Fantasia covered Aretha Franklin’s “Dr. Feel Good” on the special Taking The Stage: African American Music And Stories That Changed America, which aired on ABC Thursday night (Jan 12).
The performance took place back in September for the opening of the African American Museum of History and Culture in Washington DC. Performing during the portion of the show that showcased American soul music, the American Idol season 3 winner thrilled the audience–which included President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama–with her powerful performance. The singer received a standing ovation afterward.
