Following in the footsteps of fellow Glee stars, Chris Colfer and Jenna Ushkowitz, Lea Michele, who plays the overachieving, star-in-the-making, Rachel Berry on the FOX musical dramedy, has signed a book deal.
Harmony Books will release Brunette Ambition, which will be part memoir, part how-to and part style guide, due out next spring. according to USA Today.
The book will trace Michele’s rise to fame from normal schoolgirl in the Bronx to being cast on Broadway as a child to landing the role on Glee. With a “personal and intimate, behind-the-scenes perspective,” the book will include everything from never-before-seen photos to fitness tips and career insights.
“There wasn’t a guidebook when I was growing up, that detailed everything I needed to do, and know, to get to where I am today,” Lea said in a statement. The book is “not a how-to-make-it-in-show-business book, but a guide to harnessing tenacity, passion, enthusiasm, and hard work to make your dreams come true.”
Chris Colfer, who plays Kurt Hummel has written 3 books! Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell, which reimagines the fairy tales we loved as kids, flew to the top of the New York Times bestsellers list when it was released last summer. The sequel, Land of Stories: The Enchantress Returns is due in August. A companion book to his self-penned movie, Struck by Lightning, was released in November.
And just released last week was a guidebook to life for teens and young adults from Jenna Ushkowitz who plays Tina Cohen-Chang, called Choosing Glee 10 Rules to Finding Inspiration, Happiness and the Real You.
