When American Idol 2018 contestant Catie Turner performed her Amy Winehouse inspired cover of “Oops I Did it Again” for Top 7 Songs night, I wrote, “Postmodern Jukebox is gonna get Catie on speed dial, very soon.”
AND WELP. It was Season 10 singer Haley Reinhart who invited Catie to perform “Oops” with her and PMJ’s band leader Scott Bradlee at the Troubadour Thursday night (June 21). Check out the jazzy performance featuring Hailey and Catie on vocals, with Scott on keys here. Now that Catie is definitely on Bradlee’s radar, I patiently await PMJ’s inevitable Youtube collaboration with the young singer.
Catie could not have been more excited about the performance, tweeting afterward, “a big thank you to haley and her team for letting me get up on the iconic troubadour stage tonight and sing alongside her. never in a million years did i ever think this would happen and i am so thankful and if u guys want me to bake a pie i will even though i can’t bake.”
