With 46.22% of reports in, it looks like Justin Timberlake is finally going to have to yield the top of the chart to another act. Paramore is set to have the top debut and top selling album of the week with just over 100K in sales. This rock group is signed to whimsically named “Fueled by Ramen” which has been a pretty efficient subsidiary of the WMG in the last several years. Their last album was released in 2009.
Justin is currently in the second sport with his “20/20 Experience”, but once all the dust settles for the week, he may end up in third behind Brad Paisley. Tyga, sometimes Chris Richardson collaborator, is debuting in 4th (lots of new albums this week), Volbeat (yet another group I’ve never heard of – wiki tells me they are a Danish metal band that play a fusion of rock and roll, heavy metal, punk and rockabilly – who knew? No seriously, who knew? And if you do know, I bet you can say “Rødgrød med fløde” without swallowing your tongue) is 5th, Voice judge Blake Shelton is 6th, non-human Lil Wayne is 7th, Stone Source sings about gold and bones at 8th, The Band Berry is 9th and Device is 10th.
Carrie Underwood, fueled by her Awards show appearance instead of dehydrated noodles in a cup, is currently in 22nd. Kelly Clarkson who appeared on the same awards show and Idol, is not far behind at 26th with her Greatest Hits album. Phil Phillips, our latest American Idol is in 33rd. Now 45, featuring One Direction, Kelly and Phil, is at 47th.
