Forget prom and homecoming, the 18-year-old Neshaminy High School grad spent 12th grade as one of two Philadelphia area contestants to make it to the Top 7 on Season 16 of “American Idol.” “It was so nice to do my senior year on ‘Idol,’” Turner says. “I didn’t have to worry about my SATs!” Woodard, who grew up in the East Falls neighborhood of Northwest Philadelphia, admits he was a bit different from the other contestants and probably “the only person not thinking about the millions of people watching.” – Read more at McCall.com
De Blasio, Nixon aimed to stop Jennifer Hudson from singing at charter school rally – Mayor de Blasio and Cynthia Nixon’s wife banded together with a bunch of City Hall aides in an effort to stop singing star Jennifer Hudson from performing at a Success Academy rally — by feeding her negative information about the charter network, e-mails obtained by The Post show. De Blasio and his crew sprung into action when City Hall learned from news reports that the “Dreamgirls” star would be headlining at an October 2015 Success rally in Brooklyn and moved quickly to undo the deal.
