Jake Hoot Shares the Story Behind His Upcoming Duet With Todd Tilghman [EXCLUSIVE] – Two winners of The Voice are combining their talents on a new song, out in January. Season 17 winner Jake Hoot will sing with Season 18 winner Todd Tilghman, on the hymn, “In the Garden,” scheduled to be released on January 14.The two singers teased the song on social media in April, which Hoot says began when they got together with the intention of writing a song. “I invited him over to write, and we just got to talking ’cause Todd, he’s such a down-to-earth, sweet guy,” Hoot tells Everything Nash. “He and Brooke both are. We just got to talking, and talked through our entire session of writing. We were supposed to write. And so I said, ‘Well, let’s not stop here. Let’s go grab something to eat. But before we go, let’s record something.’ And so we recorded, just a little 30-second, one-minute clip of ‘In the Garden,’ which is an old hymn that we both love.” – Read more at Everything Nash
Catie Turner | It’s Real with Jordan and Demi
Catie Turner Turns Her Insecurities Into Catharsis on New Single, “God Must Hate Me” – “As an artist, you always want people to listen to and experience the work you put your time and tears into,” she said. “But for this one, when people tell me they have it on repeat, it’s bittersweet—I’m happy they found something to relate to, but also I’m like, ‘Hey, are you ok?’ I feel guilty because it’s so sad! What stands out to me, though, is that I think no one really talks about this feeling so bluntly. Like no poetry, no bullshit: I feel like God made a mistake with me.” – Read more at American Songwriter
