Carrie Underwood bashes singers who can’t hit the notes live: ‘Why’d you record them if you can’t sing them? – “Growing up and going to concerts or seeing my favorite artists on TV, if they didn’t sound like they were supposed to sound, it was always so deflating. I’d lose respect for them,” Underwood, 39, told Rolling Stone. “Or when I’d go to a concert and hear them drop keys, I was like, ‘You can’t hit the notes! Why’d you record them if you can’t sing them?’ That stuff is important to me.” Indeed, when Underwood goes from the studio to the stage, she has had no problem bringing her recordings to life with her prized instrument that won her the American Idol title in 2005 (back when people still cared about “American Idol”). “I love to sing, and I’ve always taken pride in the work I’ve put in on my vocals,” she said. “I do want to sound good.” – Read more at Page Six
Carrie Underwood Launches ‘The Denim & Rhinestones Tour’ [Interview] – “I always want to be sure every tour is a new and unique experience for the fans,” Underwood tells MusicRow. “We’re always looking at different ways to perform the hits that everyone knows and loves and, of course, it’s fun to get to bring the new music to life on stage. The challenge is always figuring out how much we can fit into a show and we like to get creative with different ways to represent as many songs as we can, even if we aren’t able to perform entire versions of every one.” The trek follows Underwood’s first portion of shows from her “Reflection: The Las Vegas Residency” at the Resorts World Theatre, which will pick back up in 2023 following “The Denim & Rhinestones Tour.” – Read more at Music Row
David Archuleta Talks Dating Guys, New Music & Embracing His Queerness – “Literally my purpose before was building up the kingdom of God and the greatest way do that was to marry a woman and have children with her. That was my ultimate goal for the first 30 years of my life. Now, I have to decide what it is as a queer person. I’ve been engaged three times. I bought three wedding rings for girls, but it felt dishonest.” “The church could tell I was not being honest with them. Now that I’m being honest, the thing that [the church] taught me is backfiring. I just say I’m queer. I still don’t know exactly where I am on the spectrum. I’m definitely more leaning towards guys. That’s who I’ve been dating… are guys.” – Read more at Out
