We Asked American Idol Winner Jordin Sparks If Reality Singing Competition Shows Are Still Relevant – While everyone else is busy trying to have a hot girl summer, Jordin Sparks is busy keeping it cool, prioritizing family time in the water this summer. The 29-year-old singer, actress, wife and mother is wearing a new hat presently, as she’s partnering with Kalahari Resorts & Conventions for #NationalWaterparkDay on Sunday, July 28. “I love the fact that there are so many opportunities for people to have a chance to live their dreams. I think that’s great,” she said. “I think that it can feel like it’s become oversaturated, but I don’t know if that’s necessarily because of how many there are and the feeling that you don’t really hear from [winners]. I think it’s because of the way we consume music and media now that people aren’t able to wait for an album. We consume it so quickly that we’re on to the next thing before they can even get their album out.” – Read more at Madame Noire

Though she told PEOPLE last August that her Allygiance — as her fans are dubbed — should expect her first album “between now and 2022,” she says her goal is to release a full-length project next spring. Along with her album, Brooke is set to drop her aptly titled memoir Finding Your Harmony next May, though it was originally set to release earlier this year. – Read more at People

Grace VanderWaal Tells Us How She Really Feels About Social Media and TBH, It Makes a Lot of Sense – At just 15 years old, Grace VanderWaal doesn’t remember a time without social media. But the America’s Got Talent season 11 winner sometimes wishes she could—since she’s seen firsthand the stresses it can bring. “I think that insecurities, especially in girls, are really affected because of social media,” she tells Parade. “I don’t think it’s because of cyber bullying or mean comments, but the need for validation. We’ve grown up getting more and more likes and if you don’t get as many likes as you want, you have to take it down.” – Read more at Parade.com
