Underwood brings new ‘Sunday Night Football’ theme – “We were definitely mindful — she had put her mark on it for so many years,” Underwood said in a phone interview. “We definitely wanted to go in and make sure we switched gears a little bit and made it sound more like me. And changed up the look and the feel just so it wasn’t, you know, the same song with a different blondie up there singing it.” AP: One of the songs [In the Sound of Music] “The Lonely Goatherd,” involves yodeling. Do you have to practice at that? Underwood: That’s the one thing I don’t have to practice. I actually have some yodeling experience. I can yodel. I don’t think you can necessarily learn it. I can just do it. I didn’t have to learn it. I am one of the blessed few. – Via the Associated Press

From ‘Idol’ to Auburn – Paul McDonald to perform at Bourbon Street – “It was kind of a last minute deal,” McDonald said about auditioning. “I’d never really seen ‘American Idol.’ Our guitar player’s girlfriend at the time was on a TV show called ‘So You Think You Can Dance,’ and we came back in town because our gig got cancelled in Colorado and she was like, ‘Hey, you should probably put on a suit and try out for this ‘American Idol’ thing.’ McDonald said he decided he may as well try and see what happens. “Our management in our band wasn’t the strongest. He was promising a bunch of different things that just weren’t happening,” He said. “I thought ‘If I do this I might catch a break.’ I’m one of those guys where it’s kind of like ‘You know what, I might as well try it. If I fail at it, whatever, but at least I did it.’” Paul is currently on tour with Hanson – Read more at The Corner
