Last night was the second holiest night on the American Idol calendar; the declaration of the Top 12 and, perhaps, more importantly, the Top 12 party.
Top 12 night is as previously mentioned, that magic threshold from where humble dreamers emerge as titans, warriors of song whose names will resound through our annals forevermore.

Dish Of Salt: Friday TV Dish (Top 12 ‘Idol’ Tidbits From The Top 12 Party)
LOS ANGELES, Calif. —
Last night was my first chance to meet the Top 12 contestants on “American Idol.” After getting to know them a little bit and getting to know their personalities, I can tell you that my favorites now are Michael Lynche, Crystal Bowersox, Lacey Brown and Andrew Garcia. I learned some interesting little tidbits from each contestant and today I present my Top 12 top tidbits from the Top 12 party.
‘American Idol’: Memorable moments from season 9 to season 1
From Kara DioGuardi competing with Katrina Darrell to Paula Abdul’s stalker, here are ‘American Idol’s’ most memorable moments.
Michael Lynche performs ‘This Woman’s Work’
Michael Lynche was known to be the frontrunner for the men in season 9, but it was his performance of ‘This Woman’s Work’ that got him into the Top 12 and the judges’ hearts. Simon Cowell called it the best performance in the show’s history and Kara DioGuardi cried.
EXCLUSIVE: American Idol’s Crystal Bowersox’s S & M Aunt Whipping-Up Support
Bowersox’s leather-clad aunt from Toledo, Ohio – who goes by the name Sweet2u on Fetlife.com and who describes herself as a 54-year-old submissive who is looking for a lifetime relationship – agrees and just like Simon Cowell she has been gushing about Crystal’s achievements on AI.
She Wrote on a Forum page:
“Hey guys if you watch idol I have a niece named Crystal Bowersox who has made it to the finals, wwooo hhoo. She is pretty and has dred-locks. you can see and hear her on UTUBE and go to Crystal Bowersox music. If you think she deserves it please vote for her, she has worked very hard to get this far and I am so very proud of her.”
EXCLUSIVE: American Idol Star Crystal Bowersox’s Baby Daddy Revealed
American Idol’s Crystal Bowersox emerged early as one of the favorites to go all the way and win the show, but much about the dreadlocked hippie style singer remains a mystery. Well, RadarOnline.com can answer one burning question, who the father of her baby boy is.
Carrie Underwood @ Times Union Center, 3/12/10
In many ways the most successful of the American Idol alumni, country Carrie Underwood will assuredly have the must longevity, as country crowds are historically more loyal, and the shelf life of pop stars seems to shorten each decade. Already, the young Checotah, Oklahoma singer has won Grammys, been inducted in the Grand Ole Opry and gone multi-platinum.
In Albany, Underwood arrived (finally, after a lengthy delay opening the doors) looking very much the All-American girl, albeit glammed up in sparkly white jacket, as she rose up center-stage on a fancy couch and dove into “Country Casanova.”
Carrie Underwood’s so good, she doesn’t need the fancy stage effects
Considering her booming voice and cover-girl looks, if there’s anyone in the country music business who doesn’t need special effects or high-tech wizardry to please a crowd it’s Carrie Underwood.
Give this ”American Idol” a microphone, a band and a playlist of songs and that’s a night of entertainment.
But Thursday night when she opened her ”Play On” tour at Reading’s Sovereign Center before a sellout crowd of more than 7, 000, Underwood seemed determined to give the audience much more than her music.
