Why Lee Dewyze Will Win ‘American Idol
I hate to break it to you, fellow members of Bowersox Nation, but our girl isn’t going to win “American Idol.”
It pains me to write that, as I love Crystal and all that she stands for (shoot, I feel like I know her), and I really want her to win, but it’s just not in the cards. Not with Lee Dewyze still shrugging in the background, anyway.
‘American Idol’ Reject Tim Urban Teaches Jim Cantiello How To Do ‘The Slide’
Recently dismissed “American Idol” contestant Tim Urban became a household name for lots of reasons: His infectious positive energy in the face of nasty criticism, his Bobby Sherman hairdo and, of course, there was his hilariously awesome slide across the stage.
Sure, Simon called Tim’s performance “completely and utterly pointless and silly, ” but you gotta hand it to Teflon Tim. He created a water cooler moment in a season that has been almost devoid of morning-after chatter.
When Tim stopped by to speak with MTV News about his recent “Idol” elimination, I had to get a lesson on how to perfect “The Slide.”

‘American Idol’ Q&A: Mike, Siobhan, and Lee get tattoos on their ‘magical day’
The decision to forgo a group-number last night left a profound mark on a few of the American Idol contestants. Literally. While Casey spent some downtime last week chatting on the phone with family and Crystal enjoyed “baby and boyfriend time, ” a few of the other contestants took advantage of their “magical day” and ventured to a Hollywood tattoo parlor. “A little bonding thing, ” says Mike, who unveiled a couple of five-point stars on his left arm.
With four Idols sporting new ink, Season 9’s Top 6 talk tattoos
Life offstage had a theme this week and it was new ink. With a rare day off (which Siobhan Magnus described as “like, a big deal”), four of six Season 9 contestants took advantage of the me time and visited a Hollywood tattoo parlor on Friday night. Naturally, we had to ask what inspired the four to mark the occasion and also posed a question to Casey and Aaron, who sat out the inking: What would they put on their sleeve at this moment in their lives?
Siobhan at the Hole show, Shania’s near make-out with Casey and encouragement for Lee; plus burning ‘Idol’ questions
It was an uplifting night for the Idols. Not only did the Top 6 have the cheeriest “American Idol” mentor ever sitting front and center, singing along, swaying, clapping and crying to their versions of her songs, but the judges clearly took their happy pills earlier in the day, as they foisted praise on all. And there was plenty of off-screen action too, what with the Friday night tattoo expedition and Siobhan’s attendance at last week’s Hole show, not to mention blowing kisses and dedicating songs from the stage. Read on for the onstage, offstage and backstage scoop directly from the Idols’ mouths — one of which did not land on Shania’s lips, but could have!
Friends gather to cheer on Siobhan Magnus
BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Friends and family gathered in Hyannis to cheer on local Idol contestant Siobhan Magnus as she performed on Tuesday night.
Crowds packed into the Steakhouse & Sports Bar in Hyannis as the Cape Cod native took the stage in Hollywood.
The 20-year old Magnus is from Marstons Mills.
5 Potential Theme Nights That Would Suit Every Remaining American Idol Contestant
American Idol’s theme weeks this season have unevenly suited the contestants. Rolling Stones week is an obvious fit for Lee DeWyze, but a weak choice for then-eliminated Lacey Brown. Shania Twain week (tonight’s episode) is the first theme to ever come close to suiting Aaron Kelly, while Michael Lynche is already preparing his “Goodbye, America” speech. It’s time for a change. Here are five themes that don’t skew towards one particular contestant — and don’t worry, I’ve done the heavy lifting and chosen songs for each singer. Caution: Kid Rock, Salt-N-Pepa, and major DioGuardi props ahead!
American Idol’s Katie Stevens won’t be returning to high school at Pomperaug
When a classmate who made it into the top eight on “American Idol” returns to her high school, it’s a big deal.
“It was a star-stricken moment, ” said 17-year-old Adam Heavens, describing Monday’s scene at Pomperaug High School in Southbury when “American Idol” finalist and Pomperaug senior Katie Stevens returned to school for the first time since being on the show.
“I was in the lunchroom and I saw a big crowd around her. She was all smiles. I got to give her a hug, ” Adam said.
Scott MacIntyre Plays With Our ‘Heartstrings’
Scott MacIntyre has been into music since he was a little boy, but his fame sky rocketed after he earned eighth place in season eight of American Idol. He stood out from other contestants immediately not only because of his amazing talent, but also because of his inspiring story. MacIntyre was born with Leber’s congenital amaurosis which has left him visually impaired. He has overcome kidney disease and a transplant which saved his life. At the age of 19 he graduated from Arizona State University Summa Cum Laude and went on to get his Masters at London’s Royal Holloway, University of London and the Royal College of Music. He has been awarded both a Marshall and Fulbright Scholarships, and all before he turned 24.

Kellie Pickler to Tour with Rascal Flatts

The first leg of the new tour, “JC Penney Presents Rascal Flatts Nothing Like This Tour, ” will being on June 25 in Raleigh, North Carolina and will continue with 26 shows through September 19th in Boston, Massachusetts.
Show Must Go on for Original ‘Idol’ Clarkson
Most of the publicity surrounding Kelly Clarkson’s concert in Jakarta tonight has been driven by the fiasco over the show’s original tobacco company sponsor rather than the 28-year-old “American Idol” alumna’s musical talents, and that’s a shame.
Clarkson is one of the most talented artists in mainstream pop. Her audience may mostly consist of younger listeners, but there is no denying the strength of her voice, her catchy songs and her girl-next-door charm.
‘Glee’: ‘Home’ is where the heart — and Kristin Chenoweth — are
If you find that place within, you’ll get that happy ending…
For the last week I’ve received a great deal of tweets, comments and e-mails regarding the now legendary all-Madonna episode.
While some readers commented that the show seems on the verge of becoming a self-parody, others blasted the episode for appearing as a sort of tribute commercial and still others thought it was just simply the “Best. Episode. Ever.”
‘Dancing With the Stars’ is a ratings threat to ‘American Idol’
Critics can say what they like about Kate Gosselin, but she’s probably the best weapon yet devised against Simon Cowell.
Gosselin, the tabloid über-mom-turned-reality TV ultra-villain, finally got ushered off ABC’s ” Dancing With the Stars” last week. That’s unwelcome news for the network, because during her short tenure she probably did more than anyone else to push the 10th season to the series’ best ratings ever, allowing it to threaten Fox’s ” American Idol” as America’s most-watched show. For three weeks this month, the Monday performance show of “DWTS” drew more viewers than “Idol” — the first time any Fox rival has managed to do that in five years.
‘Dancing with the Stars’ host Tom Bergeron talks about current season
Now that the 10th season of Dancing with the Stars is half over, EW.com asked host Tom Bergeron to weigh in about the show’s stellar ratings, the departure of Kate Gosselin, and the strange obsession with the word “bazooka.”
EW: It’s been a great season for the show. Would you give the credit, in part, to Kate Gosselin?
Tom Bergeron: No, clearly it’s because of me, Brooke Burke, and the judges. I don’t think there is any question! [He laughs]. I don’t think it was solely Kate. I think it’s been a really good cast and the numbers on Monday speak to the fact that even with Kate not being with us, the numbers are still holding up.
Dancing’s Evan Lysacek: We All Miss Kate Gosselin
When Evan Lysacek says he likes Kate Gosselin and that they became fast friends on Dancing With the Stars, he’s not just playing Mr. Nice Guy.
In fact, the original octomom surprised the Olympic gold medalist on Friday when she showed up for his ice-skating tour, which made a stop not far from her Pennsylvania home.
“We all miss her for sure, ” Lysacek told me earlier today. “All you have to do is spend five minutes with her to know what a sweet person she is and how nurturing she is.”
That’s not all Lysacek had to say about Gosselin and another DWTS leading lady…
‘Dancing With the Stars’ results: No rose for you
Maybe 100% just doesn’t cut it anymore. Because despite giving it his all on the dance floor for six weeks (even spending one of them in his tighty-whities), it was “Bachelor” Jake Pavelka who ended up with the lowest combined vote and point total and was shown the door in this dazzling competition.
Though I don’t think anyone can say they were really surprised by this outcome: After peaking at third place last week, Jake and his partner, Chelsie Hightower, plummeted down the leader board to last place with his less-than-stellar samba and swing dance. Ultimately, it was a hole that he couldn’t shoulder-shimmy his way out of.
‘Dancing With the Stars’ recap: Flight Time | ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Central Recap
On the week 6 elimination episode of Dancing With the Stars, it was bye-bye to commercial pilot and Tom Cruise lookalike Jake Pavelka. Big dreamer Jake, who can’t imagine what in life can top something like Dancing With the Stars, called season 10 ”the best season of Dancing With the Stars I’ve ever seen.” He’s probably never seen the show. If he had, he’d realize that when people get kicked off, they’re supposed to talk about their partners! After being prompted by Brooke’s synthetic ponytail to address Chelsie, Jake called her one of his best friends. Not sure how Chelsie felt about that. It generally seemed like she never really understood anything he was saying. She’d just nod and bravely smirk. What the hell was he ever talking about? Why was he thanking Canada? Silly, tied-down Bachelor.
