Jordin Sparks Does ‘Beauty and the Beast’: EW First Look!
Both Angela Lansbury and Celine Dion belted out the title song in Disney’s 1991 hit Beauty and the Beast. Now, to mark the animated movie’s Blu-ray release on Oct. 5, American Idol champ Jordin Sparks is taking a crack at the classic — recording a new version and shooting a princess-themed video (shown here). ”We didn’t change the song too much, but it is poppier, ” Sparks says. ”I wanted it to be different, so people aren’t like, ‘Oh, she’s trying to be Celine.”’
‘American Idol’ Champion Lee DeWyze ‘Going to Disney World’ on Monday
A quick announcement to share…the newest “American Idol” Lee DeWyze is coming to Walt Disney World next week to be part of a special parade at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You’ll be able to see Lee and Mickey Mouse on Hollywood Boulevard on Monday, May 31. The parade is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m at the entrance of the theme park and will then head toward Mickey’s Sorcerer’s Hat.
Kelly Clarkson NOT Working With Ryan Tedder for Her Next Album
Contrary to Ryan Tedder’s statement, Kelly Clarkson said she doesn’t work with him in her next studio album. The winner of “American Idol” season 1 simply wrote “no” when responding to question about that matter during a Twitter party on May 28.

Aaron Kelly performs at finale; won’t make trek to Sonestown on June 4
Sonestown’s Idol, Aaron Kelly, performed during Wednesday’s American Idol finale that hailed Lee DeWyze the Idol winner for Season 9. Kelly, who auditioned last year in Orlando, turned Sonestown upside-down with excitement when he advanced to the Top 5 before his elimination.
Because of his success on the show, the Sullivan County commissioners have set aside June 4, 2010 as ‘Aaron Kelly Day’ in Sullivan County, and had hoped to bring Kelly in for a brief appearance and acceptance of this proclamation.
But due to contractual requirements for Kelly regarding upcoming video productions for Ford, Disney and M&M, his scheduled visit on June 4, 2010 will now be postponed until the end of the upcoming Idol Tour, which is scheduled to conclude in September of 2010.
‘American Idol’ Winner Lee DeWyze Goes Commercial
Lee DeWyze is the new “American Idol, ” but the fun doesn’t stop there as the musician heads to the happiest place on Earth.
Watch Lee win it all over again as he sings “When You Wish Upon a Star” on the set of the new Disney World commercial and hear other former contestants open up about their experience on “Idol.”
DeWyze’s friends celebrate his Idolness
Lee DeWyze’s friends in Oak Park and River Forest are celebrating his new status as 2010 American Idol.
The newest winner of FOX’s “American Idol” grew up in Mount Prospect, but he came of age musically in Oak Park.
Not only did the 24-year old singer/song writer record two CDs at Ryan McGuire’s WuLi studio in near Lindbergh Park in Oak Park, he recorded a six-song children’s CD for Denise and Jeffrey Henderson’s River Forest-based Square One Organics.
AI9 Grand Finale – What You Didn’t See
As I’m sure you all know by now, Lee DeWyze is our latest American Idol winner, defeating Crystal Bowersox in this week’s finale. What we don’t know are vote totals or winning margin. I suspect we’ll never find that out because for the former, they’re probably WAY low compared to last year (the week before was nearly 50% less than the previous year’s totals), and for the latter, it’s probably pretty large.
I still haven’t watched the full broadcast of the grand finale, but I was in the Nokia Theatre for the show. Here’s what you may or may not have seen:
Norman Gentle Performs The Official Reality Rocks Theme Song
For years, Reality Rocks has needed a proper official theme song. And now, thanks to “American Idol” comic Norman Gentle, it finally has one!
Norman recently brought his genius comedic timing, huge personality, and magic bag of props (and headbands) to Yahoo!, where he graced the staff with a truly amazing version of “Amazing Grace.”
Live From The ‘Idol’ Finale Red Carpet, Part 1
“American Idol” ended two days ago, and with the departure of Simon Cowell, it will never be the same. But the memories, both fond and not-so-fond, of the past nine seasons linger. The careers of many diverse acts have been launched by “Idol” since the show debuted way back in 2001, and I was thrilled to get to chat with some of them when I worked the red carpet at Wednesday’s Season 9 finale. Finally getting to interview William Hung was a career pinnacle in and of itself.
Live From The ‘Idol’ Finale Red Carpet, Part 2
Part 2 of Reality Rocks’ footage from the “American Idol” Season 9 finale red carpet begins, extremely adorably, with a Season 8 reunion/group hug between Kris Allen, Norman Gentle, and Megan Joy…followed by fun interviews with Matt Giraud, Jason Castro (who, yes, discusses “Hallelujah”), Tatiana Del Toro (still wearing Paula Abdul’s QVC jewelry), Anoop Desai, Scott MacIntyre, and Ace Young.
American Idol Finalists and Winner, Lee DeWyze, are the Newest Fans of RAYMOND WEIL Timepieces

VIDEO/PHOTOS: ‘American Idol’ Paige Miles comes home to Naples
NAPLES — Paige Miles knew how they felt.
She could relate to the throngs of Community School of Naples kids pushing and shoving to get her autograph after a brief performance Friday at the school she used to call home. After all, she was in their shoes just a few days before.
The packed gymnasium was a far cry from a sold out Nokia Theater, where she performed on “Idol.” But Miles didn’t mind.
“It’s like coming full-circle for me, ” she said after her brief performance. “I got my start on this stage.”
Rickey Minor on his ‘Idol’ run, Season 9, Adam Lambert and the Pickler that got away
Wednesday’s “American Idol” finale didn’t just mark Simon Cowell’s last night on the job, the show also bid farewell to musical director, bandleader and chief arranger Rickey Minor, who takes over “The Tonight Show” band on June 7. Now he didn’t get a video package or even a spoken acknowledgment by Ryan Seacrest, which reportedly infuriated the music veteran, but in talking to Idol Tracker the next day, Minor downplayed the snub, insisting that he remains close to the show’s producers and is even consulting with them on his potential successor.
Even more surprising, when it comes to his own “Idol” legacy, Minor says he’s not feeling nostalgic yet. Maybe it’s because in jumping from one gig right into the next, he hasn’t had the time to properly reflect, so we help him look back at his tenure on “Idol” — the good, the fast, the pitchy — in the Idol Tracker exit Q&A, and wish him all the best for the future!
Clay Aiken Is The Only Celebrity Who Doesn’t Want To Guest Star on Glee
The former American Idol runner up has been hard at work on his fifth studio album, Tried and True (and dropping next week) as well as preparing for a summer tour with another Idol alum Ruben Studdard, plus you know he is also a relatively new dad, so it isn’t surprising that he doesn’t have a whole lot of time for television…but we still thought Glee would be right up his alley.
“I’ve never seen it, ” he told me when we chatted on the phone the other day. As I made a funny noise he added, “My television is typically tuned to CNN.” But there is one show that Clay would like to appear on. “I want to be on The Closer real bad. I’m addicted to it.”
Sneak Peek of Paula Abdul on “Drop Dead Gorgeous”
Abdul to be keynote speaker at Conn. women’s forum
HARTFORD — Singer and former “American Idol” judge Paula Abdul will be the keynote speaker at the 2010 Business Women’s Forum, a day-long event planned for this fall that organizers expect to draw more than 1, 000 businesspeople.
The forum, in its 28th year, will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Connecticut Convention Center with the theme “Creating Your Own Success.”
Abdul was announced as the keynote speaker this week.
EXCLUSIVE! Fox Currently Has ‘Zero Clue’ About Who Should Replace Simon Cowell On ‘Idol’ — But YOU Might Be Able To Pick His Replacement!
“Fox has ZERO clue on the replacement for Simon and are taking as much time to pick the replacement as possible, ” a show insider reveals to HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “They have thought of a handful of [people], but are seeing what America hangs onto when rumors are spread!”
In addition, producers may air a two-day special in which America actually VOTES for Simon’s replacement! “They have been throwing an idea around that this fall they would have a two day special where America would vote for the next American Idol judge. Since the guest judges worked so well last summer [when auditions are taped in August]. they might bring those people back for the special.”
Simon Cowell’s Managerial Legacy
I woke up this morning feeling guilty, ready to admit a journalistic lapse: I watched only about five minutes of last night’s marathon season finale of “American Idol.”
That’s partly because I’ve never liked the show, and partly because both the Red Sox and Celtics were playing on other channels. But I’d meant to tune in last night to watch Simon Cowell’s swan song. Even though I’m no “Idol” fan, I’ve always thought Cowell’s style, while over-the-top, is relevant for managers.
Glee Cast Kiss for Chris Colfer!
Chris Colfer receives simultaneous kisses from Glee co-stars Lea Michele and Dianna Agron during his 20th birthday private party at Greenhouse in Soho, New York City on Thursday (May 27).
Mark Salling was snapped with his rumored girlfriend (and co-star Naya Rivera).

‘So You Think You Can Dance’s’ Cat Deeley watches the show in her pajamas, criticizes her performance
Korbi TV hit the Season 7 premiere of “So You Think You Can Dance” Thursday (May 28) night and had a lovely chat with that hostess with the mostest, Ms. Cat Deeley, who may not exactly share our high opinion of her on-camera skills.
“After this [party] is all done and I’ve had a couple of cocktails, the makeup will be coming off, the hair will be going in a ponytail, I’ll be putting on my pajamas and I’ll be sitting [and] watching [this first episode], probably really being tough on myself, ” she shares in the video below. “I’ll be going, ‘Why did I do that?! Why did I say that?!'”
‘So You Think You Can Dance’: Mia Michaels may not scream but she might be slamming her shoe down on the judges’ table
Mia Michaels hit the “So You Think You Can Dance” Season 7 premiere party Thursday (May 27) night to celebrate her new role as the third permanent judge on the show’s panel.
Replacing resident screamer Mary Murphy, Michaels and I decided she too must have a signature move now that she’s a part of the regular cast.
