The TV talent contest show’s popularity is such that its runners-up receive as much notoriety as the winners determined by viewer vote at the end of each season.

Launch Comes With a Twist

The singers traveled into the giant candy via a hydraulic lift. Runner-up Crystal Bowersox and winner Lee Dewyze sang “Falling Softly” from the movie “Once.” Mr. James and Mr. Lynche sang “Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?” from the movie “Don Juan DeMarco.” The rest of the Idols sang something with the lyrics “la, la, la.”

Alan Kercinik, the creative director for Weber Shandwick, said the event had been in the works since September. “The whole idea was ‘There’s something new inside the M&M, ‘” he explained. “What’s the dramatic way of showing that?”

Review: Kris Allen impossible to resist at Intersection show

Great-great Aunt Lucille will back me up when I say Kris Allen has it all: charm, a relaxed vibe, good skills at the guitar and the keyboards, and mad vocals befitting an “American Idol” champ.

Lucille Hazel, 83, of Kalamazoo, was on hand at The Intersection Wednesday night to see her great-great grand nephew perform, along with 35 other Allen kin from these parts. She may have been the oldest fan in attendance, but she likely wasn’t the most adoring.

Well, maybe she was, but Allen is impossible to resist.

The 24-year-old threw himself into tunes from his self-titled album, opening with “Can’t Stay Away, ” a Maroon 5-esque number with swoony dips and nicely shredded guitar solos.

‘So You Think You Can Dance’ recap: Sex doesn’t sell

Ah, Hollywood. Home to some of the entertainment industry’s greatest talents. As well as some of the industry’s greatest ”talents.” I put the word in quotes, because as we are all too well aware, for every Kate Winslet in Hollywood, there’s a Kim Kardashian. For every Meryl Streep, there’s a Megan Hauserman. For every Helen Mirren, there’s Heidi Montag.

In other words, there are plenty of folks who find fame and fortune in Tinsel Town mainly due to their, ahem, assets. And I’m not talking their retained earnings! And during the first hour of last night’s So You Think You Can Dance when Nigel, Adam, and new guest judge Hi Hat journeyed to L.A., I began to fear my favorite dance show on television would fall victim to the lure of the some of the Hollywood auditioners’ cha-chas (hint: not the dance), and trot out a season 7 cast equivalent to The Girls Next Door.

Kara DioGuardi on Bret Michaels: ‘It Will Come Down to Chemistry’

Warming up to the prospect of Bret Michaels as a co-judge.
“I have met him once and he seems lovely. I really like him. Obviously, he’s done stuff in music, but it will really come down to the chemistry. I had a nice time with him when I met him, but I’d have to see what it would all be about. And that’s going to be interesting about the show next year; every time someone leaves, it’s new chemistry.”

Debunking criticism that this season wasn’t at its best.
“I just think there were a lot of different voices that ended up in the Top 12 that people weren’t used to. A lot of stylized voices like Lacy Brown and Didi Benami that were those radio voices that couldn’t necessarily switch genre to genre and weren’t the ‘big’ voices that the show is used to.”

Hey y’all!!

This weekend I sang with my friend Chris Daughtry in Nashville, TN. Some of the proceeds from the show went to help the flood victims here in TN. It was an awesome night!! Brad Arnold (3 Doors Down) also came and sang with Daughtry…and man, they sounded great! Also, I was able to see the band “Lifehouse” for the first time and they were so awesome–seriously–all the guys and their wives were really cool too! All in all it was a fun night and for a good cause :) Below are some some pics of the night…
