‘Idol’ Doolittle enjoys homecoming; Sligh, Stacey to move here
American Idol finalist Melinda Doolittle had quite a homecoming Wednesday when the Brentwood resident and former back-up singer took center stage at the Sommet Center with the nine other Idol finalists.
“I am so excited to be home, ” says Melinda. “Nashville has been amazingly supportive. They have done more than their share of helping me out, so I am excited to be able to say thank you.”…
Scarnato joins others in ‘American Idols Live!’
…Scarnato, whose hot-pants-and-halter-top rendition of “Tell Him” will surely live forever at YouTube.com, is still getting more ink for her fashion sense and stage moves than for her voice. Her leather outfit caused a sensation in Florida, according to news reports.
“It’s our job to get (audiences) more involved, out of their seats, ” finalist Chris Richardson told the Tampa Tribune….

Kellie Pickler rounded out the top five. Meantime, OK! magazine thinks Carrie Underwood has a lot of clout. She’s made the magazine’s list of the 19 most influential celebrities. Underwood is ranked among the top three entertainers, along with “American Idol” judge Simon Cowell and model Heidi Klum. The magazine says they are “people who decide what we watch and listen to.” The list is separated into six categories: beauty queens, style setters, entertainers, newsmakers, survivors and body shapers….

Faced with a protracted sales slump, U.S. record labels are tapping into the tween scene after Walt Disney Co became the unlikely hitmaker of the year with chart toppers like “Hannah Montana” and “High School Musical.”
“A lot of entertainment companies are trying to figure out how to replicate Disney’s formula and crack the tween code since it’s one of the market’s few sweet spots, ” said entertainment lawyer Fred Goldring….
