1. I still own my first guitar. It’s covered in stickers and unplayable, but I’ve got it.

‘Idol’ Comes to McDonald House

COLUMBUS — Some excited boys and girls at Columbus Ronald McDonald House on East Livingston Avenue got an Idol surprise visit Tuesday morning!

Scotty McCreery and Thia Megia, from the hit Fox TV show American Idol stopped by before their local concert Tuesday night. The two singers signed autographs, shared laughs and read stories to the kids.

Broadway Sessions Presents Constantine Maroulis, 8/11

Ben Cameron (Wicked, Aida, Footloose) is the host and creator of BROADWAY SESSIONS at THE MIDTOWN THEATRE at the HA! Comedy Club (163 West 46th Street / Between 6th & 7th Avenues) every Thursday night at 11:00pm. Broadway Sessions is described as an evening of musical performances, games and open mic featuring a new Broadway guest each week, and features musical director/composer Will Van Dyke (The Addams Family) on piano. In addition after the show we open the microphone up to anyone who wants to sing. Open mic from 12:00-2am.

This THURSDAY, August 11th, 2011 the weekly show (now in it’s 3rd year) will hold a special concert event celebrating the birthdays of Broadway Sessions associate producer Cori Gardner and Co-Creater/Executive producer of the docu-series Curtain Called, Danny Jordan. The evening will feature performances by Maroulis and a host of theater luminaries.

‘Dancing With the Stars’: Chelsie Hightower takes a dance step into a larger world with the USO

In June, “Dancing With the Stars” pro Chelsie Hightower and fellow dancers Tristan MacManus and Peta Murgatroyd headed to Germany with the USO to visit six U.S. bases, signing autographs, visiting with the troops and teaching a few dance steps.

With less than 1 percent of Americans having a family member serving on active duty, the dancers got to experience something that most of their countrymen only hear about from the media or from friends of friends.

‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Judge Mary Murphy Says This Season Is Best Ever

“So You Think You Can Dance” judge Mary Murphy says fans should be excited to see “more dancing than you’ve ever seen” on the upcoming season finale of the show.

In an interview with “FoxNews.com Live, ” Murphy says the contestants this season are “really terrific” and that she was particularly inspired by them, who have been waiting for eight seasons to come on the show.

Also, word around town — the town in this case being Westwood, which is where the premiere of Glee: The 3D Concert Movie was held — is that several castmembers will be taking a crash course in tap-dancing in preparation for the Sept. 20 season opener.
