Jennifer Hudson loves her fans. And to thank them, she just dropped a cover of Darlene Love’s “Christmas Baby (Please Come Home)”
“It’s no secret that Christmas is my favorite time of year and one of the things I love most about it is the holiday music,” Jennifer told People magazine. “For me, it’s all about creating a feeling of love and warmth to celebrate the season, so I hope this song can do just that for everyone, especially my amazing and persistent fans who have been asking for that Christmas album!”
The American Idol season 3 alum has released several Christmas tunes over the years. The list includes a remix of Mariah Carey’s “Oh Santa” last year, with Mariah and Ariana Grande. She also dropped “Do You Hear What I Hear?” and “How Great Thou Art” with Pentatonix.
On Dec. 6, Critics Choice Association honored Jennifer at the fourth annual Celebration of Black Cinema & Television event, which took place in Los Angeles. The association presented the former The Voice coach with the Actress Award for Film for her performance in the Aretha Franklin biopic, Respect.
“Thank u @criticschoice!” Jennifer wrote in an Instagram post on Tuesday (Dec 7). “Last night was so special. Your support means so much to me and to the entire cast and crew of @RespectMovie. It’s such an honor to be included with this talented group of artists. We are all blessed to be beneficiaries of Miss Franklin’s lasting legacy. I am truly grateful!”
