It’s official. Jennifer Lopez has joined Cameron Diaz in Lionsgate’s movie adaptation of What To Expect When You’re Expecting. Jlo will play Holly, a woman who adopts a baby from abroad with her husband after difficulty conceiving. It’s one story in a plot that weaves together 4 tales.
It’s based on the best-selling book by Heidi Murkoff, the movie will be directed by Kirk Jones (Waking Ned Devine).
The film is scheduled for release on Mother’s Day weekend in 2012.
In the mean time, Jennifer has not decided whether she’ll return to American Idol or not. As recently as a few days ago, she told Extra TV, “Nobody’s made me make the decision yet , and it could go either way.”
“I’m not saying I didn’t love it, ” she said. “But you know, I only signed up for one year, so the second year… we don’t know yet.”
She told the BBC last week when asked if she’d be returning to Idol, “I don’t know. I haven’t been forced to make a decision and I’m glad about that because honestly I’m very on the fence about it.”
“I had an amazing time doing it and I loved it but I have a lot other things happening, and it’s going to come down to me making a choice of what I want to do for the next year and we’re not really at the breaking point of ‘You have to make a decision right now! I’m just really enjoying the time of just waiting and seeing.”
Jennifer reportedly signed a one-year deal with Idol for $12 million. I still think she’ll return if the money is right.
