This new cover of Hozier’s “Take Me To Church” from Jessica Meuse reminds me why I loved her so much on American Idol 13.
Her powerful vocals and driving acoustic guitar, make this simple, impromptu cover powerful. No need for fancy stuff. The lo-fi recording actually gives it an even punkier edge. It’s too bad Jess had all the edges smoothed off of her on Idol.
“My current jam. And I needed to post something new.” the singer posted on her Facebook along with the video, “Enjoy. Love you, ?#?musemafia?!”
