Joey Cook and Postmodern Jukebox have joined forces once again! This time, they team up to perform Fall Out Boy’s 2005 hit, “Sugar, We’re Goin Down,” vintage big band style.

Admittedly, not every pop rock song lends itself to the vintage treatment, but in this case, the band has scored a winner. The sweeping melody and catchy hooks lend themselves well to the brassy arrangement. I especially dig the horns on the breezy chorus. Joey’s cheeky interpretation is loads of fun. At one point, the singer’s ukulele descends from the ceiling on a wire, in arms reach, where she can grab it and play for a bit.
I’m not in the minority, either. PMJ posted the video on Thursday, and by Friday, it had racked up over 100K views! A studio version of the song is also available on iTunes.
