John Fogerty has cancelled two of 3 Florida concerts originally scheduled for the coming week and sponsored by Charity Pros for Heroes. He cancelled his appearance in Tampa Bay this Saturday (11/20) at the Yuengling Center with American Idol alum Lauren Alaina as the opener, and a concert scheduled for Tuesday (11/23) at the Amway Center in Orlando Florida co-headlining with Cheap Trick.
However, the second concert scheduled for Sunday (11/21) at the Hertz Arena in Estero is still on the books. American Idol season 19 4th place finisher Casey Bishop was scheduled as a special guest to perform at all 3 concerts, with fellow American Idol contestant Wyatt Pike accompanying her on guitar. Interestingly, the only concert going forward is set for Casey’s hometown, Estero. She sold out her hometown concert, which took place in the parking lot of Buddha Live last June.
The cancellation announcement is cryptic:
“We are saddened to announce that Due to Production issues, the previously announced Charity Pros for Heroes concert events in Tampa and Orlando Florida have been canceled,” Fort Myers nonprofit The Charity Pro’s wrote Thursday on Facebook. “Internet orders made via Ticketmaster.com will automatically be canceled and refunded. All other refunds must be handled at the point of purchase only.”
Lauren Plays The Opry on Tuesday
Lauren at least gets to look forward to playing the Grand Ole Opry on November 23. She’s had back luck with concert tours lately. Slated to open for Florida Georgia Line, they postponed their fall tour due to the COVID pandemic.
