Julia Gargano Win Live with Kelly and Ryan Encore Contest
The votes are in! And fans chose American Idol Top 7 contestant, Julia Gargano to be Live with Kelly and Ryan’s American Idol encore performer.
The Staten Island native will appear on Live in an at home performance on Thursday May 21 to sing her original song, “Growing Pains,” the audition song that impressed the judges. During her run on the show, she also performed Pink’s “Glitter in the Air,” Christina Perri’s “Human,” Billy Joel’s “New York State of Mind,” Adele’s “Sweetest Devotion,” and “Beauty and the Beast.”
Live with Kelly and Ryan announced the news Wednesday (May 20) morning on social media.

The morning after Just Sam was crowned American Idol winner, Live with Kelly and Ryan opened voting, allowing fans to choose from among the the singers who placed 3rd through 7 for a performance spot on Live. Voting closed at 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 19.
Live with Kelly and Ryan has conducted the competition all three years ABC has aired American Idol. Fourth place finisher, Cade Foehner won the honor in 2018, while 3rd place finisher Madison VanDenburg appeared in 2019.
