Fifteen year old Julia Goodwin told the American Idol judges when she auditioned that she only played with her dad and at pizza places. That’s not quite true. She’s a protege of Michael Feinstein and has played with him at Birdland in NYC, and at The Palladium in Indiana. Julia also sung the National Anthem at an NFL game. Check out her bio.
Nevertheless, the young singer is an impressive interpreter of songs with a beautiful tone and phrasing well beyond that of someone in their mid teens. I would not be surprised if she made the live shows.
