In an interview with NPR, pop star, Katy Perry bemoaned the “strange world” in which singers are getting “naked to be noticed.”
“I’m not talking about anyone in particular. I’m talking about all of them. I mean, it’s like everybody’s so naked,” Perry told host Scott Simon. “It’s like put it away. We know you’ve got it. I got it, too.”
Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna and Ke$ha get naked regularly in their music videos, photo shoots and selfies posted on the internet. Katy’s no stranger to baring her body to get attention. She was nude and covered in whipped cream in the music video for “California Gurls” after all.
“I’ve taken it out here and there. And I’m not necessarily judging. I’m just saying sometimes it’s nice to play that card, but also it’s nice to play other cards,” she said.
What do you think? Is Katy protesting too much? Or does she have a point.
