Fun Fact: Keith Urban has lived in the United States for 25 years and has never been asked to sing the National Anthem before an event. The Australian native and former American Idol judge finally got his chance Tuesday (5/16) before the 3rd game of the NHL Western Conference Final between the Nashville Predators and Anaheim Ducks.
Another fun fact most of you are probably aware of: Mike Fisher, the husband of American Idol season 4 winner Carrie Underwood is captain of the Preds.

And an interesting aside: The regular anthem singer for the Preds is very disappointed he’s being displaced by country music stars during the playoffs. When told that Carrie would be singing the anthem a few weeks back, he was told it was a one time thing. But it hasn’t turned out that way, as a stream of celebrities have taken to the ice to do the honors.
