Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough made judge Carrie Ann Inaba cry when they performed a gorgeous contemporary-style freestyle dance on last night’s Dancing With The Stars. It was Kellie and Derek’s last chance to dance for viewer votes. The performance even had that crusty judge, Len Goodman, on his feet! And of course, the dance was scored a perfect 10.
Carrie wasn’t the only one teary-eyed in the studio. Kellie’s husband, Nashville songwriter, Kyle Jacobs was clearly in tears when the camera panned to the audience during the emotional performance. All the love and adoration left Kellie herself, weeping.
“I just feel like I let all of my walls down and I just got out there and just did my little dance,” Kellie told People magazine backstage after her performance. “I just let myself go. There was a freedom, in a sense, that I felt. I really don’t even know how to put it into words. Regardless of what happens tomorrow, I feel like I’ve accomplished so much being here.”
Kellie and Derek also danced a lively Quickstep and participated in a Cha-Cha-Cha relay with the rest of the finalists as part of the competition. Tonight, we find out if Kellie and Derek win the Mirror Ball Trophy. Tune in at 9/8c on ABC.
