Kelly Clarkson Show features American Idol alum HunterGirl’s Opry debut performance
American Idol alum HunterGirl delivered a raw, emotional performance of her debut radio single “Ain’t About You” on NBC’s The Kelly Clarkson Show on Monday (March 18).
Kelly Clarkson, the OG American Idol winner, introduced the 2022 runner-up saying “You might remember out next guest as the runner-up of season 20 of American Idol. Since then she’s only gotten more impressive y’all!” Kelly continued, CMT just named her one of its next Women of Country and an artist to watch in 2024.”
The clip is actually from HunterGirl’s recent Grand Ole Opry debut which took place on March 2. The country singer also performed the unreleased track “Clockworks,”

Spotlighting her Grand Ole Opry debut earlier this month, the teary-eyed but fiercely beautiful performance invoked an impassioned, lively standing ovation from the packed-out Opry house – a bucket list wish she’s been dreaming of her whole life.
“I have dreamed of playing at the Grand Ole Opry since I was a little girl,” said HunterGirl in a press statement. “It was a full circle moment getting to step into the circle that night. Singing on that stage felt like becoming a part of something greater than myself.” She added on Instagram, “Thank you guys so much for coming on this journey with me. This was one of the best nights of my life, and I wouldn’t be here without y’all.
On Instagram, HunterGirl wrote alongside a short video clip, “Singing on that stage felt like becoming a part of something greater than myself. Thank you guys so much for coming on this journey with me.”
Up next, the talented songstress will join Luke Bryan on his 2024 “Mind Of A Country Boy” Tour this summer, make her return to Nashville’s CMA Fest on June 7 as well as debut at Tortuga Music Festival on April 5 and Faster Horses Festival on July 21.
