According to reports, Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband Brandon Blackstock has moved out of the singer’s Montana Ranch, which a court settlement required him to do by June 1.
Blackstock wanted to fight the order
US Magazine reports that Blackstock “wanted to fight the order but was ultimately talked out of it.” According to the same source, Blackstock “is always asking for more and being a constant thorn in her side.”
“He will spend most of the summer in Montana and will have unlimited access to the ranch,” the source said. “He plans on traveling to Los Angeles to see the kids, but it won’t be on a routine basis.”
The Montana ranch has been a major point of contention during divorce proceedings
The Montana ranch had been a point of contention between the two throughout the divorce proceeding. Kelly tried to kick him off the property, but was blocked by a judge. A few months ago, Blackstock filed to have cameras on the ranch disabled, and Kelly was ordered to disable 13 cameras.
An L.A. county judge awarded the afternoon talk show host ownership of the ranch in October 2020, but Kelly experienced a setback in December of that year when she failed to evict Blackstock from the property.
Blackstock reportedly has argued that the Montana home was “marital property,” and he continued to live there even after he and Kelly split in 2020.
Eventually, the American Idol OG winner agreed to give her former husband 5.12% percent of the property, equaling $908,800 of its total $17,750,000 value, but gave Blackstock no ownership interest in the property.
A judge granted Kelly’s divorce in August 21 without settling financials
Kelly’s marriage to Blackstock came to an official end in August 2021 when a judge signed off on a legal dissolution of her marriage a year and three months after she filed for divorce.
The singer requested that the judge declare her legally divorced in July, arguing that she and her ex “both deserve the opportunity to build a new life.” Kelly was granted primary physical custody in November of their children River Rose, 7, and Remington Alexander, 5.
Kelly finally settled the divorce completely in 2022
Kelly settled the divorce’s financial and custody issues earlier this year. The singer earns about $20 million a year. Blackstock was awarded spousal support equalling $115,000 a month, which ends in January 2024. Kelly will also pay him $45,000 a month in child support in addition to 1.3 million as part of the overall settlement.
The American Song Contest host has also dropped her ex-husband’s last name legally changing her name to Kelly Brianne, which is her first and middle name. She is continuing to use Kelly Clarkson as her professional name.
