Kevin Hart Skits Saturday Night Live
Saturday Night Live returned last night (1/17) after winter break with comedian Kevin Hart as host and musical guest, Sia. Not a Kevin Hart fan, particularly, I wasn’t expecting much from the episode. But I was pleasantly surprised. SNL’s midseason premiere was a solid effort.
The funniest and buzziest bit of the night was Kate McKinnon’s always amazing Justin Bieber impression in a parody of his Calvin Klein underwear commercials. This stuff just writes itself, but Kate’s spot on impression amps the hilarity exponentially. Cecily Strong as the annoyed model is also perfect.
In the cold open, the ghost of Martin Luther King, Jr. (Kenan Thompson) visits a student (Pete Davidson) writing a paper about him and gets a crash course in America’s racial progress. Hint: Macklemore is invoked.

When the cast of a popular soap opera is reunited on a talk show, one actor (Vanessa Bayer) realizes she’s being negatively singled out with her walk-on music. I really wanted the backstory on why the sound guy (Kevin Hart) hated her guts.
