This is totally cool. The original writers and performers of “Falling Slowly”, Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, recently performed the tune in Milan, Italy as a mashup with U2’s “With Or Without You”.
Hansard explained that he saw Kris Allen’s version on You Tube, and thought it was “clever”.
Kris knows about the nod from Hansard and is really flattered! His wife Katy just tweeted, “Just talked to Kris he thought it was really cool! :)”

Kris performed the song, “Falling Slowly” on Idol during movie week, and has been performing the mashed up version out on the road…and yes, there are a ton of you tube versions of the performance everywhere! Here, for instance.
Hansard can’t remember Kris’ name, but…it’s the thought that counts!
