American Idol season 17 winner Laine Hardy is coming back home on Sunday May 16 to perform his brand new single, “Memorize You.”
The new song, written by Eric Arjes, Michael Tyler and Steven Dale Jones also has an accompanying music video, that premiered exclusively on Facebook. Watch it HERE.
The booking is last minute. American Idol disqualifying teen country singer Caleb Kennedy from the competition earlier this week created a hole in the two-hour episode that needed to be filled. Hence, judge Luke Bryan will perform his new single “Waves” on Sunday as well.
“Waves,” written by Zach Crowell, Ryan Hurd and Chase McGill, is the fifth single from Luke’s album Born Here Live Here Die Here (Deluxe Edition), which the country superstar released last month with six additional songs. “Waves” is the follow-up to the project’s already four consecutive #1 singles. The addition of a performance from Laine now returns the episode to its typical jam packed status. The American Idol semi-final will feature three songs from each of the Top 4 finalists: Casey Bishop, Chayce Beckham, Grace Kinstler and Willie Spence. The contestants will also perform brand new singles.
For Laine, the easy going new song “Memorize This,” follows his singles “Tiny Town,” and “Ground I Grew Up On,” both released in 2020. Laine will embark on a live tour this fall, opening for country star, Toby Keith. Click this link for ticket information.
