Opry member Lauren Alaina dished backstage after her performance about what’s next for her musically. The singer parted ways with her record label UMG Nashville earlier this year. But it wasn’t long before the American Idol season 10 runner-up revealed she signed with Big Loud Records
The Georgia native recently shared that she is in the studio working on a new album with Joey Moi. While Moi is known for his progressive production, Lauren told CMT that she is definitely NOT going the pop country route.
Lauren shared that she’s set to go into the recording studio with Moi in November. She’s early on in the album-making process right now and is focusing on songwriting. She’s working with many of the same songwriters she has teamed with previously in her career, so she isn’t anticipating a significant change to her sound. She said it would just be “better.”
“I’m just progressively getting more country”
“I think it’s probably just going to be an extension of what we’ve done,” she said. “I think the biggest difference will be we’re working with Joey now, who is a master. I’m just progressively getting more country. Most people get progressively more pop. I’m getting progressively more country.”
Earlier in the evening, Lauren performed a set of songs on the Opry stage, including her Kane Brown duet, “What Ifs.” She also introduced the new Bush’s Baked Beans “spokes dog” Duke. While Lauren was on hand to introduce the new partnership between Bush’s Baked Beans and the Grand Ole Opry, she had a few nostalgic thoughts about the product.
“My Pawpaw loved specifically Bush’s baked beans,” Lauren said. “Like, they had to be on the plate. He was always obsessed with them. This is true; when I go to the grocery store, I think of him if I walk down that aisle.”
Lookit how cute that dang dog is. “Let’s not beat around the BUSH’S, it was an honor introducing Duke for his @opry debut this Friday night! #bushsbeanspartner,” Lauren wrote in a caption on social media, alongside a few adorable photos. “I’m so excited to share that I’ve teamed up with @bushsbeans to bring YOU to the Opry!”

Lauren is also continuing her sponsorship with clothing retailer Maurices.
“I’ve been designing clothes,” she shared with CMT. “We got some Christmas t-shirts coming. They’re really cute. It’s been fun, and I really enjoy it.”
