American Idol alum and Dancing with the Stars finalist, Lauren Alaina released her new duet “Getting Over Him” featuring country star Jon Pardi on Friday (Aug 21), across all download and streaming services.
The song, co-written by Lauren, Paul DiGiovanni and Emily Weisband is the title track for the country singer-songwriter’s upcoming EP out on September 4.

“I’ve done duets with other people for their projects,” Lauren says about the upbeat song, ” but I have never done any for my own,” adding, “[Jon Pardi] loved this one. His energy is so amazing. I can’t believe I have a rebound song – but I do!”
“Getting Over Him” takes a look at a rebound from both sides of the relationship.
The six song EP also features a duet with pop star Lukas Graham, on the vulnerable and heartbreaking “What Do You Think Of.”
“I am the most nervous about releasing this one because I was so vulnerable when I wrote it. Most of my songs come from more of a sassy and empowered place and this song comes from a really broken place,” said Lauren. “But I think it’s important because it is a part of who I am. It’s a part of what I went through. And if I am going to be honest in my music, I have to share songs like that too.”
