This is it. The very last time the Glee cast will perform live before the series ends on March 20th. The Family Equality Council held their Los Angeles Awards dinner last night (2/28) at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, and Glee was among the honorees.
Cast members, Alex Newell, Lea Michele, Darren Criss, Chord Overstreet, Jenna Ushkowitz, Harry Shum Jr. and Becca Tobin joined forces to sing a short set of songs from the series.
Glee co-creator, Ryan Murphy, delivered a breif acceptance speech, where he noted that just “seven years ago, before Glee and Modern Family and Transparent and Orange is the New Black, one poll showed that only eighteen percent of Americans believed that a gay or non-traditional family was entitled to equal rights. Today,” Ryan observed, “that number has grown to fifty-two percent. That is a great change, it is a great victory.”
Watch Ryan Murphy deliver his acceptance speech, followed by Alex Newell singing “I Will Survive.”
The rest of the Glee cast join Alex to perform Dancing Queen
The kids finish with the iconic “Don’t Stop Believing”
