Carrie Underwood has emerged from a months long hiatus with a brand new single.
“Cry Pretty” is the American Idol season 4 winner’s first single released on UMG Nashville. It’s a brand new phase of Carrie’s career after spending her entire career with Sony Music Nashville, the singer’s label upon winning the American Idol crown in 2005.
Carrie co-wrote “Cry Pretty” with superstar songwriters Hillary Lindsey, Liz Rose and Lori McKenna. The trio, known as the “Love Junkies” also penned Little Big Town’s country super-smash “Girl Crush.”
Currently, Carrie is hard at work recording her next album, which she is co-producing with David Garcia. The producer/songwriter has impeccable credits, having co-wrote Kip Moore’s No. 1 hit “More Girls Like You” and the Florida Georgia Line and Bebe Rexha crossover hit “Meant to Be.”
