It’s been a minute since we’ve had new music from Melinda Doolittle. Her last album was the retro Coming Back to You released in 2009.
The American Idol season 6 alum previews the title track, “You’re the Reason (U.R.Y)” from her forthcoming EP, out on Tuesday.
According to USAToday, which previewed the track, Melinda co-wrote tunes on the EP, including a song called “Give” with Connie Rae Harrington and Jimmy Yeary. Both just won a CMA award for co-writing the Lee Brice song “I Drive Your Truck.”
I’m gonna assume there are no songs about trucks on Melinda’s EP, just a slew of awesome grooves like those displayed here. And that voice. Wow. One of the best to come out of Idol.
