Monday Morning Mediabase 06/25/2018

Four milestones to report on the Monday Morning Mediabase report.

This week, Morgan Wallen from Season Six of The Voice tops the Country chart with “Up Down”. He is the first Voice contestant to hit the top of an airplay chart as a lead artist (FGL is featured? Nashville Star’s Chris Young had a duet with Cassadee Pope that hit number one in Country airplay. In any event, this is a great milestone for somebody who was eliminated in the “Playoffs” to make. Congrats Morgan and The Voice (who will have something to brag about next season). It just goes to show that you have to keep trying.

Camila Cabello from the second season of the X-Factor hits number one on HAC for a second time. “Never Be the Same” has already been number one on Pop radio and “Havana” was her previous number one on HAC.

Also from the same season of X-Factor (such that they were placed in the same band) is Normani. Her collaboration with Khalid is called “Love Lies” and it hits the top 20 on Pop.

From one of our newer reality singing show competitions is Zhavia from “The Four”. She didn’t win (Evvie where are you?), but the producers wanted her to. She got a feature on the “Deadpool 2” soundtrack and that song debuted on Urban radio this week. “Welcome to the Party” is the first song from “The Four” to get radio airplay.

Kelly Clarkson’s “All Quiet Uptown” bubbles back up onto the AC chart this week.
