Three milestones to mark the third week of August.
The Voice’s Morgan Wallen continues to steadily gobble up the milestones. This week “You Proof” from his TBA album hit top 10. Country radio can often move at a more sedate pace, but for the current megastars, songs can rise meteorically. Morgan is a current Country megastar. “You Proof” was released to Country radio on July 18th and a month later it is top 10. Right ahead of it are Ingrid Andress’s “Wishful Drinking” at 8th (released to radio Dec 13th) and Carrie Underwood’s “Ghost Story” at 9th (released on March 18th).
Morgan also has his “Dangerous: The Double Album” (released Jan 8th, 2021) still in the top 10 of the BB200. It is 6th this week (4th lw) with 48K in equivalent sales (-1% from last week). “Harry’s House” from Harry Styles is right behind it at 7th (last week 5th) with 43K in equivalent sales (-1%).
Jax hits another milestone with “Victoria’s Secret”. The song has exploded onto the Pop and HAC charts and this week achieves top 30 on Pop. Jax is from the 14th season of American Idol.
Finally, we have X-Factor’s Camila Cabello still making milestones with her Ed Sheehan collaboration “Bam Bam”. The song was earlier a success on HAC and Pop – now it debuts on AC.
