We’ve got milestones on 4 different charts this week from two winners and a runner-up.
First up is Kelly Clarkson who is taking no prisoners as she stomps all over the charts. The second single from her 5th album goes for adds this week, but it really started flexing its muscles last week. “Stronger” moved up 17 spots on the HAC chart and 20 spots on Pop to make it top 30 in both formats – almost top 20 on HAC. Over on AC, “Stronger” entered the chart at 34th. Her previous single “Mr. Know It All” continues to top the HAC chart.
Second is our second winner, Ruben Studdard. His single “June 28th (I’m Single)” went for adds and I noted that he’s pretty reliable in UAC. Sure enough, his single has vaulted straight into top 40 on that format (from 73rd last week). This is his first single for his album with Shanachie Entertainment. This will be his 5th studio album.
Finally, Adam Lambert’s new single isn’t going for adds until next week, but it made its debut this week. “Better Than I know Myself” achieved top 50 on the HAC chart. That gives us a total of 7 Idol songs on that chart. Almost 1 out of 7 songs on that chart come from Idols. BTIKM is the lead-off single for Adam’s second album. The single will also be going for Pop adds next week.
Javier Colon has fallen out of the top 50 on HAC and Mandisa is no longer charting on AC (she is still top 5 on CAC).
