Morgan Wallen cleared to sing again after doctors ordered six weeks of vocal rest.
Morgan Wallen announced on Wednesday (June 7) that he’s cleared to sing again. The Voice season 6 alum had to cancel six weeks of shows last month after doctors put him on vocal rest. In an Instagram story, the country singer announced “we back.”
Reportedly, the story included a photo of the singer sitting on the back seat of his fishing boat alongside the message “Also, the doc cleared me to talk and sing… we back.”
In late April, Morgan abruptly cancelled a concert in Mississippi minutes before he was set to take the stage. Rumors swirled that he was too drunk to sing. But In early May, after returning to tour and performing three shows, Morgan revealed that he was having vocal issues, and unfortunately, he’d have to go on vocal rest.
Doctors ordered six weeks of vocal rest
“I got some bad news from my doctors at the Vanderbilt Voice Center yesterday,” Morgan wrote on Instagram. “After taking ten days of vocal rest, I performed three shows last weekend in Florida and by the third one I felt terrible. So I went in and got scoped yesterday, and they told me that I reinjured my vocal cords and that I have vocal fold trauma.”
“Their advice is that I go on vocal rest for six weeks, so that’s what I’m going to do. They want me not to talk at all, but they said if I need to, it’s okay to for something like this,” Morgan had more physical issues, “I also tore my LAT while we were in Australia, I’ve been trying to work through that quietly, but this time off is going to help me get that back right as well.”
Morgan promised to reschedule all canceled dates. But then added that he would also have to skip the upcoming Academy of Country Music Awards.
The singer healed very fast. While his doctors suggested a six week vocal rest, they cleared him after only four weeks. Morgan’s next scheduled concert date is June 22 at Wrigley Field in Chicago with HARDY, ERNEST and Bailey Zimmerman.
