Sad news. Neal E. Boyd the opera singer who won America’s Got Talent season 3 in 2008 died Sunday from heart failure.
According to TMZ, the singer was in his hometown of Sikeston, Missouri, reportedly at his mother’s home, when he died. The county coroner told TMZ that Neal died around 6 PM, and that no autopsy will be done. TMZ reports that the singer had a known heart condition.
After his AGT win, Neal recorded one album, My American Dream. He made a few television appearances over the years, but mostly stayed under the radar.
In early 2017, Neal blacked out while driving, causing an accident that left him and his mother badly injured. They’d been slowly recovering since then. Neal was 42.
For his America’s Got Talent audition, Neal performed the opera classic Nessun Dorma
