Popstar Justin Bieber has made the executive decision not to take selfies with fans anymore. Recently, Justin also cancelled all of his 1K meet and greets for his Purpose tour because the experience was leaving him feeling “drained and and unhappy.” The singer says, “I always leave feeling mentally and emotionally exhausted to the point of depression.”
In this latest missive, Justin could have been less of a d*ck about it, but he actually has a point. The digital age has enabled entitled fans to behave in ways that are even scarier and more inappropriate than ever before. I can’t begrudge a celebrity who feels the need to set hard boundaries with fans, whatever they may be. Justin’s correct here. If a fan buys an album, it doesn’t give them permission to a selfie or any encroachment on his privacy.
Justin who is in the middle of a massive tour, may be rethinking the fame game. The singer played the Boston Garden Tuesday night. I’ll bet he was staying at the Four Seasons Hotel, because here he is, right across the street from that hotel, HANGING OUT IN A TREE in the Boston Public Garden. It’s like the dude just wants some alone time. Maybe he’ll turn into the Millennial version of Greta Garbo.
