American Idol winner Noah Thompson recently wrapped up a co-headlining tour with season 20 runner-up HunterGirl. Now the country singer is getting ready for the next chapter.
On Instagram, the singer posted a snippet of a brand new song titled “She Gets it From Me.” In the clip, Noah says, “You guys have been asking for some new music. I just got this master back, y’all tell me how you feel about it.
The Kentucky native captioned the clip, “love this freakin song. I hope y’all do to!! Let me know In the comments!! #shegetsitfromme #newmusiccoming”
Sitting in his car, Noah sings along as the clip plays: “Got that temper from her daddy, Her eyes from her momma, That tattoo on spring break down in Daytona, Gotta curve in her words, From growing up in Texas, Safe in her soul from that cross on her necklace…Cause every wish, every kiss yeah she gets it from me, Day or night, rain or shine, she gets it from me.”
Noah’s current single “Make You Rich” celebrates life in a small town
Noah’s dropped his first original post-Idol single in November titled “Make You Rich” which celebrates growing up in a tight-knit community.
“I’m from a small town in Eastern Kentucky and didn’t grow up with much,” Noah said in a press statement about “Make You Rich.” “I’ve learned to value my friends and family so much more than the materialistic things we can have in life. I joke that I’m just a simple guy. I’ve also learned, even when life is tough, the more you give and the more you love, the richer you are, and that is the whole meaning behind ‘Make You Rich.’”
Meanwhile, in a recent interview with Hollywood Life, Noah confessed that he had “no experience whatsoever in performing prior to Idol.” He added, “You definitely do grow on the show, but afterwards, there was a point for me, where it was like, ‘Ok, this is it. This is where I have to take off.’ So, I’ve been playing all these shows back home and getting to travel around with my band, and everything has been a lot of help for me as an artist.”
