As yesterday was a holiday, the Hot 100 numbers won’t be released until later today. On the BB200, BTS achieved their second number one album with “Love Yourself: Answer”. It sold 185K equivalent albums and 141K of traditional albums. What is impressive is that BTS’s previous number one album “Love Yourself: Tear” was launched in May (chart date June 2nd) meaning they topped the album twice in a 3 month timeframe. Rap artists have frequent releases, but the last Pop act to have two number one albums in a 12 month timeframe was One Direction (“Four” and “Midnight Memories”). BTS has a huge social media presence and has been topping the BB Social chart for months.
