More bad news for Paula Deen. Her upcoming cookbook, Paula Deen’s New Testament: 250 Favorite Recipes, All Lightened Up won’t be coming out in October after all. The publisher, Ballantine Books, cancelled her two book contract. This, despite pre-orders driving the upcoming cookbook to #1 on Amazon after news broke that the celebrity chef used the N word.
“After careful consideration, Ballantine Books has made the difficult decision to cancel the publication, ‘Paula Deen’s New Testament: 250 Favorite Recipes, All Lightened Up,'” the publisher said in a statement.
Deen has lost about a dozen contracts so far, including deals with Food Network, Wal-mart, Target, Home Depot, Smithfield, Ceasars Entertainment and more.
Today, Deen also lost contracts with Walgreens, JC Penney and Sears.
In other news, there is a rumor that Dancing With The Stars has reached out to Deen to appear on their upcoming fall season.
