Paula Deen Racial Discrimination Lawsuit Thrown Out

The racial discrimination case that destroyed Paula Deen’s career has been THROWN OUT.

Via TMZ:

In one of the most supremely ironic court decisions in a long time, a judge just threw out the racial discrimination claim filed against Paula Deen — the very lawsuit that destroyed the famous chef.

A judge just ruled … Lisa Jackson had no right to claim racial discrimination, BECAUSE SHE’S WHITE! Any comments that Deen or her cohorts may have made had no legal consequence to her, because she’s simply not the right color.

Jackson made a tenuous argument that someone in her family was bi-racial — something that may not be true at all. But the judge said even if it were true, she was at best an “accidental victim.”

Short story — Jackson ruined Paula with a bogus claim.

Hm. I wonder if some of the people who were reportedly the victims of Paula and her family’s bigotry will file their own suits? I have a feeling this isn’t over yet.

ETA: Well, yeah. Paula and her team bungled the reaction to the negative press she received after her deposition leaked. She admitted to using the N word, but it was her cavalier, clueless attitude that had her sponsors running as far away from her as possible. Both Paula and her brother came across as tone-deaf bigots. I’m not sure how or if she’ll ever be able to “fix” that.  It wasn’t the case that destroyed her, but the fallout, and the way she and her team handled it.  She’ll come back in a fashion, maybe without the high-profile sponsors, because it seems that she’s still got fans who either aren’t paying attention or don’t care her bigoted tendencies.
