UPDATE: And now Piers is leaving Good Morning Britain. Looks like ITV might have given him a shove:
“Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain,” the British network said. “ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add.”
I suggested yesterday that somebody hand former America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent judge Piers Morgan a Snickers bar, like in the famed commercial. But now I think he needs and entire truck filled with the candy bar delivered to his house in England.
Two days later, and the Good Morning Britain host is still losing his mind over Sunday’s Prince Harry and Meghan Markle interview with Oprah Winfrey. The two hour interview special aired on CBS, drawing massive ratings.
Good Morning Britain’s weather presenter gives Piers a dressing down
After fighting with a guest on Monday morning’s show, now Tuesday morning (March 9), Piers stormed off the set after Alex Beresford THE WEATHER PRESENTER dressed him down for his over the top reaction to Harry and Meghan’s interview
Piers previously slammed the couple, accusing Meghan of lying. “I’m sorry, I don’t believe a word she says, Meghan Markle,” he said.
“I think that we need to all take a step back. And I understand that you don’t like Meghan Markle. You’ve made it so clear a number of times on this program. And I understand that you’ve got a personal relationship with Meghan Markle, or had one and she cut you off,” Beresford said. “She’s entitled to cut you off if she wants to. Has she said anything about you since she cut you off? I don’t think she has, but you continue to trash her.”
And then Piers stormed off the set in a huff, saying “OK, I’m done with this. Sorry. See you later. Sorry, can’t do this.” What a baby.

Piers eventually returns to the set
Piers later returned to the set where he, Beresford and the rest of the presenters engaged in more heated debate. Beresford, who is biracial like Meghan is, understands where she is coming from. The biggest controversy comes from the couple claiming that someone in the royal family worried about how “dark” their future baby’s skin would be. Beresford has been confronted with similar questions himself. He says being biracial gives some people permission to make outrageously racists comments.
Piers believes that either Prince Charles or William made the remark about the couple’s future baby’s looks (Oprah ruled out Queen Elizabeth and her husband), and believes it could have been innocent (NO). The two have a son, Archie and a baby girl on the way.
The Queen issues a statement
In the meantime, Buckingham Palace, on behalf of Queen Elizabeth, issued a statement responding to Harry and Meghan’s explosive claims–that the palace wouldn’t arrange for help when Meghan become suicidal, and the concerns over baby Archie’s skin tone.
“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan,” reads the statement, which was released on Tuesday by Buckingham Palace on behalf of Queen Elizabeth.
“The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning,” the statement continued. “While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.
<p>“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”
