In other news, Billboard reports that Prince’s streaming numbers are up 6,323% to 4.77M streams in the first two days his catalogue became widely available on streaming services. The two days prior to that, Prince’s catalogued had been streamed 74K times on Tidal. Tidal is going to have to make a better case for itself – although the tribute from Bruno Mars and The Time at the Grammys also probably did its part to encourage streams.
