According to sources contacted by The Hollywood Reporter, there is a shakeup going on at American Idol’s parent company, CKx.
Chief operating officer Kraig Fox it out. With the company since 2005, he was not involved in the day-to-day operations of 19 and American Idol, but was active in the careers of Idol finalists, like season 10’s Haley Reinhart. Other alums that 19 currently manages include Lee DeWyze, James Durbin, Stefano Langone, Pia Toscano and Casey Abrams.
Also out, are Red Light Management who co-managed all of the optioned season 10 Idols with 19. (winner Scotty McCreery and runner-up Lauren Alaina are represented by Simon Fuller’s XIX Entertainment). New partnerships for Season 11 alums and beyond will be handled by former Miley Cyrus manager, Jason Morey.
The shake up may or may not affect American Idol, but it could have an impact on the careers of Idol alums still managed by 19.
