So You Think You Can Dance 8 – Top 6 Results

Caitlyn Lawson is eliminated
Ricky Jaime is eliminated

Your Final Four: Melanie Moore Sasha Mallory, Tadd Gadduang and Marko Germar

There isn’t much to say about tonight’s predictable results.  Both Ricky and Caitlyn are fine dancers, but they just don’t have the charisma of the quartet who made it through.

The final four are all have beautiful technical skills and are exciting to watch.  At this point it comes down to style, but even then, I can’t pick a favorite. They all  bring something special to the table.  Sasha is fierce and soulful, Melanie sweet and lyrical. Tadd has a sense of humor and is full of surprises.  Marko is gentle, emotional.  I’d be happy with any of the 4 finalists winning.  Needless to say, I am really looking forward to next week’s finale!

Kenny Ortega and Katie Holmes are next week’s guest judges.  Back next week as all-stars will be Lauren Froderman, Robert, Mark and Joshua!

I don’t know if it’s a last minute decision of Lord Nigel Lythgoe, but he tweeted today that tonight’s results will be decided by AMERICA. The top vote getters will not be revealed…

Also, American Idol’s Pia Toscano taped a performance of her single “This Time” this morning with Michael Orland before she took off to join the rest of the Top 11 in Milwaukee tonight for Idols Live. Stay tuned for Pia, not-live, later in the show…

In the meantime, stay right here while I live blog the results!

Each of the Top 6 will perform a solo tonight.

Sasha performs her solo first. Caitlyn is next. Cat reminds us that it could be her last performance in the competition. Probably because it likely is. Melanie takes the stage next!

Next, it’s videos from Saturday’s National Dance Day. FILLER. National Dance Day is FOREVER. So sayeth Congress. Congrats Nigel!

The boys dance their solos.

Tadd is first. Marko is next, and finally, it’s Ricky.

Kent Boyd and Lauren Froderman reprise the Emmy-nominated “Collide” choreographed by Travis Wall! HOT KISS. That was so sweet.

Results! The girls take the stage. Cat recaps the dancers’ performances from last night and sends one girl, Melanie, to the finale!

After the break, the guys take the stage. Cat recaps the guys performances.  Going to the finale is…Marko!

Next the Bad Boys of Dance perform!

Sasha and Caitlyn take the stage! Who is going home? Nigel thinks Caitlyn overthinks things a little too much, Melanie dances from her heart and Sasha dances from her soul. You are about to cut Caitlyn…do you have to diss her too? All 3 dancers are incredible, says Nigel. And of course, Caitlyn Lawson is eliminated. Sasha advances to the finale.

Before the boys results are announced, Pia Toscano sings her new single,   “This Time”.  Available on iTunes for a limited time? Cat must mean the 69 cent sale.

The final dancer through to next week’s finale is…Tadd!
