Here is everything you need to know about the fourth episode of Songland, airing June 18 after America’s Got Talent on NBC. Four songwriters will present their tunes to the panel, hoping to have it recorded by this week’s star artists, former Disney stars Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas aka the Jonas Brothers.
The competition features an all-star panel of songwriters and producers that include Ryan Tedder (Leona Lewis “Bleeding Love,” Beyonce “Halo,” and his own hits with OneRepublic), Ester Dean (Nicki Minaj “Super Bass,” Katy Perry “Firework,” Kelly Clarkson “Mr. Know it All”) and Shane McAnally (Kacey Musgraves “Merry Go Round,” The Band Perry “Better Dig Two,” Keith Urban “Female,”).
Check out this week’s four songwriters:
Remmi – From Remmi’s All Music Bio “Part of Nashville’s burgeoning electro-pop scene in the mid- to late 2010s, Remmi is singer/songwriter Rachel Smith… An Orlando native, she moved to Nashville in hopes of getting a job in songwriting and publishing.” Her music has been featured at Refinery29, The Vinyl. She was featured on a song by Black Coast. Check out her Soundcloud, Facebook.
Able Heart – . EDM.com describes Able: “The Philadelphia based artist is a singer, producer, songwriter, and engineer. Creating a fusion of R&B and Electronic music, the vocals combined with the flawless production are certainly unique to the current market.” Check out his Facebook, Soundcloud and Instagram. He released an EP titled Drugs last year.
Rynn – Los Angeles based pop singer/songwriter Kathryn Kempthorn, better known by her artist name Rynn, studied songwriting at Belmont University in Tennessee. She talks about Belmont’s story-driven approach to songwriting and more HERE. Her latest song is “Like a Dream.” Check out more of her dreamy electronic music at her Youtube channel, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
Ori – This young songwriter won a 2019 BMI Abe Olman Scholarship: “Ori Dulitzki swapped slick basketball skills for soulful crooning when he discovered pop and R&B in his suburban Philadelphia high school. Motivated by his newfound passion, Dulitzki bought a microphone and a keyboard and immersed himself in music, teaching himself how to sing, play, write, produce and record.” Additionally, “Ori moved into a humble NYC East Village apartment to work with producers and writers all over NYC, and two months after his initial move, one song he had written landed him a spot on NBC’s brand new series, Songland.” He’s working on an album to be released this summer. Oddly, I found links to his socials on Google, but the pages–Twitter, Instagram, Facebook–have all been deleted.
The 11-episode series will feature artists: Jonas Brothers, John Legend, Meghan Trainor, Charlie Puth, OneRepublic, Old Dominion, will.i.am, Kelsea Ballerini, Leona Lewis, Aloe Blacc, and Macklemore.
